A Manifesto for Online Collaboration

Written by Judy Rees and Matt Barnaby

If your bosses are desperate to drag you back to the office, that doesn’t mean they’re nasty people.

They may not realise that online can be better than in-the-room; that relationship-building and innovation can work brilliantly when remote — and that the ways you’ve been working for the last two years may not be the best way to do that.

Let’s say it out loud: there are better ways to collaborate online to achieve meaningful results.

Today, we’re proud to announce the launch of the Manifesto for Online Collaboration.

We were honoured to help convene a group of brilliant collaborators to craft five paragraphs that spell out what we stand for: including diverse people in online interactions that build resilient and trusting working relationships, unlock the group’s potential, and get work done, joyfully.

To craft those lines, we worked in the way we recommend: remotely.

Many of us have known each other for years. Some were brand-new friends, attracted by the group’s shared values. Only a few of us have ever met in person. And yet we’re pretty good at collaborating, innovating, and building relationships 🙂

We’d love you — and your organisation — to join us in committing to better ways of collaborating online. Please add your signature here.
